CD review 77 "Maximum rock'n'roll"

Veröffentlicht am 8. Oktober 2013 von Markus W. in 77, Hardrock, CD Review

This is an interesting album. 77 is from Spain and the play rock'n'roll. So far so good. I haven't heard from them before. But their new album 'Maximum rock'n'roll is already their third full-length record. So it's time to give them some attention :o)

The album was recorded in the Gutterview Recorders in Stockholm and was produced by Nicke Andersson and Fred Estby. If you give an album a title like 'Maximium rock'n'roll' you really have to live up to this title. And they do. The play boogie based hard rock with a lot of parallels to AC/DC and some moment of Status Quo. That means the the band isn't innovative at all, but I also would't go that far to say that they are AC/DC clones. The band can't be blamed for being inspired by one of the biggest rock bands ever. There are a lot of "AC/DC" bands out there.

The difference with 77 is, that they are really doing a good job and that the album got a warm, authentic and heavy production. 'Maximum rock'n'roll' has a soul. It makes fun to listen to the album and it is highly entertaining. You just want to listen to it from the first to the last track. I actually think, that this album is better than e.g. the latest release from Airbourne. These songs help you to bring you through the autumn blues.

If you love rock'n'roll, AC/DC,... than check out this disc. It's worth it. Spain rocks.
