(8/10) Oh my God, this name is a crackjaw. Who on earth should keep this band name in mind? Maybe it will be there sound that is more exciting than having the right pronounciation.

So, who is Sinsaenum? This band is the result of merging Slipknot with Dragonforce. Joey Jordison and Fred Leclercq teamed-up, supported by growls like Sean Z (Dååth, Chimaira) and Attila Csihar (Mayhem). This sounds like a blast.

The guys are in blackened death metal that is quite raging and furious. Actually I had to think about the musical inferno the two 'mother bands' create while I was listening to this first two track EP.

The first album "Echoes of the Tortured" (release date July 29th) is in progress but Sinsaenum couldn't resist to unveil a first teaser in the form of this release.

Two tracks are featuring this EP and both are interesting and well done. They might not lead to endless enthusiasm, but it's obvious that these guys know what they are doing and it's definitely exciting stuff we get served.

"Death is the Beginning" is the first tune. It's full-speed-ahead number that creates a intesive blast, spice things up by well placed breaks. "The Forgotten One" kicks in next. Guitar lines and leads remind of the earlier Slayer, something that makes this tune to a hellish sound experience.

This teaser makes hungry for more. The fullength album will be released end of July until then, enjoy the EP.
