(7/10) Drowning Pool aren't the fastest ones in releasing new records. They have a kind of three years rhythm in which they publish new stuff. Knowning that their last album "Resilience" was released in 2013 you could expect a new longplayer in 2016. And indeed, here it is.

"Hellelujah" is the name of this record that hosts 13 songs. Drowning Pool hasn't lost anything when it comes to power and groove. Riff attacks are spread all over and the rough but melodic vocal lines are well done. It needed 2-3 rounds in the player to really like this disc, since it reveals the quality after a while.

"Push" opens the album that is a pure energizer, if you listen to it loud. "We are the Devil" is slower grooving with an ultracool chorus that reminds of the best days of the Cavalera Conspiracy, just that Drowning Pool was first.

The well-done "Snake Chamber" makes you think of Alice In Chains and the dynamic "Meet the Bullet" with the kids choir in the beginning and the melodic vocal lines is a plus factor on "Hellelujah".

There's also nothing wrong with the silent tunes like "Another Name" and all in all there is now filler on this disc. There is also no real killer on the album too, but since each ot the tunes has good stuff to offer, "Hellelujah" is worth to be discovered.

And even though I like the album there is an underlaying thing saying, that this kind of music has reached its peak already a few years ago. However, Drowning Pool is still Drowning Pool, the songs are good and that's what counts.
