CD review NULL'O'ZERO "Enemy Within"

(7/10) Null'O'Zero was founded in 2011 and it almost seems that there is a New Wave of Greece Heavy Metal on its way. OK, that's maybe a bit too big, but there are with Null'O'Zero and Forbidden Seed two Greek bands that show some potential for more.

"Enemy Within" is the long awaited debut of the Greek power metal band. First thing that stands out with Null'O'Zero is singer Ge'o'rge Patsouris, also called Geo Sinner. The guy has a great voice and he's a real metal siren.

Secondly it's the songs that are burned on the debut that make Null'O'Zero to an exciting experience. The compositions are real metal with pretty melodic riffs, performed with some technical capabilities.

When I heard the debut of Null'O'Zero for the first time it have been bands like Liege Lord and Anacrusis that came to my memory; a not too bad reference.

In total the debut covers ten songs and one instrumental at the end. Each of the songs is pretty long. Most of them are between five and seven minutes. But the band has enough to offer to keep the level of attention high. There might be some more bumpy parts, but in the end this doesn't diminish my positive impression.

As with Forbidden Seed, the production is done quite well. "Enemy Within" got a clean and powerful sound that supports their power metal in a good way.

It's the first time I have heard from Null'O'Zero and what I've heard convinced me. Fans of power metal and US metal, mainly from the 80's, should keep an eye on the band.
