CD review FUSSKALT "Overdrive" EP

(7/10) I never heard about Fusskalt till a few days ago. I had a mail from them in my mailbox and without knowing that it's a band my first thought was: Spam mail. However, good that I was still curious enough to check what the whole thing is about.

Actually Fusskalt is a band from Aahus, Denmark that plays stoner rock with a certain garage rock vibe. I still think that the name is funny, esp. knowing that it's actually German (it means "Cold Feet").

Checking out the music shows less of Germany or Denmark. The guys open the desert for you with their riff-based stoner rock. With guitars heavily down-tuned Fusskalt sounds pretty heavy.

"Overdrive" is the newest EP of the Danish five-piece that is already out on the market.

In total the disc contains 5 tracks that are covering a range from faster ("Sin City") to slow and mean tunes ("Chasing Unicorn"). And in the end it's crunchy "El Toro" that kicks you out of this EP.

I was glad that I opened the mail with the new Fusskalt EP, since this disc is hot and I can't imagine getting cold feet (what the bands name basically means) while listening to "Overdrive".

Good solid stuff from Denmark.
